Learn how to save a life!
Hands-Only Drop In
This is an informal opportunity to learn the basics of hands-only CPR. It is not an American Heart Association class, and no registration is required. It is designed for anyone with little or no medical training.
Heartsaver
This course teaches participants how to perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively. It is designed for anyone with little or no medical training. The registration fee is $40 with the option to add a $25 digital certification card.
Topics include:
- Recognizing cardiac arrest
- Providing high-quality CPR for adults, children, & infants
- Using an AED
- Providing choking help for adults, children, & infants
- Administering Narcan
- Using an epinephrine auto-injector
Basic Life Support (BLS)
This course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate breaths and ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. It is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. The $65 fee includes a digital certification card.
This course includes all topics covered in the Heartsaver course as well as:
- BLS concepts from the Chain of Survival
- Performing as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
- Delivering effective breaths or ventilations
Proceeds from the registration fee go towards Needham’s Domestic Violence Action Committee (DVAC) and Gift of Warmth program.
Please note that the registration and card fees are non-refundable. However, you may request to have your registration transferred to another class if space permits.
