Needham Badminton Academy • Register • View Cart •

Focus on badminton fundamentals for holding a racket, swing and footwork technique, as well as basic shots. Proper warm-up and drills will be introduced as well. Fundamental skills as a foundation for badminton skills and movements as follow.
 
- Proper forehand and backhand grips
- Forehand lift
- Backhand lift 
- Clear (high/long)
- Serves
- Introduction to footwork
- Half court practice

Instructor is available to offer a second course on Monday evenings from 6:15pm - 7:45pm if Tuesday nights fills up. Please join the waiting list for Tuesdays or contact Recreation Supervisor Chris Burnham via email @ cburnham@needhamma.gov to indicate interest in a Monday session.

Students will need a racket and bring non-marking, indoor court shoes. You can get badminton rackets and shoes either from Amazon or Badminton Warehouse. Links to their websites as follow.
