iCode of Wellesley: Minecraft
Students will be introduced to the wonderful world of Minecraft, a realm where their imagination and creativity can be unfettered and take flight. They will learn concepts like Engineering through hands-on building of structures and design with different textured blocks. They will be introduced to key mods that extend the base functionality of Minecraft to make it the immersive world that children love to be lost in, learn and socialize with friends and co-designers. Expanding their imagination, extending their creativity and helping them hone their skills and learning is the perfect gateway to strengthening the student’s confidence, competence and collaborative muscles! Participants will need a gaming mouse and a Minecraft account.
iCode of Wellesley: Coding with Roblox
Roblox is one of the most popular online game platforms to play and create one’s own games. Roblox helps students socialize and expand their analytical and problem-solving skills while having fun with their friends. The games are easy to interact with, even for young children. In this course students will be introduced to concepts around game construction, with an introduction to Roblox Studio, where they can generate a random world or build on pre-fabricated themes, templates and storylines. In this course, students will also learn about Digital Citizenship, Internet Security, and other critical concepts and develop habits and practices for safe online interactions with others.
iCode of Wellesley: Drone Code: Programming with Python
Focused on data analysis and quick decision-making, campers will learn to maneuver through drone obstacle courses using the Python 3 programming language. The relationship between software and hardware becomes apparent as campers code solutions to the limitations of their environments and toolsets. With a solid foundation in Python 3, campers will be able to plot their course, code, and take off!
iCode of Wellesley: Robotics & Engineering
Battle of the bots is a great way to learn how technologies like programming, sensors, gears, and mechanics work, all while having fun! Campers will learn the fundamentals of mechanical engineering as they team up to build robotic systems. Students are also able to learn the basics of robotics programming starting with the simplest of devices and then graduate to more complex builds with Lego Wedo, Vex, Spike and EV3 systems. They do a variety of hands-on activities starting with the basic interactions with hardware devices and then extending to the more complex applications of making a moving robot think!

Create and Pitch your own Project Campers will learn how to think like a creative entrepreneur and compete in a crowded marketplace with unique solutions to tomorrow’s problems. Working with professional tools like Adobe XD will give campers a competitive edge and help. As they collaborate with other students and gain hands-on experience, they will complete group and individual projects. They will discover the techniques and processes that were used by esteemed entrepreneurs to launch their own products. They will have fun and learn everything they need to become a successful Creative Entrepreneur!

As technology advances, our future workforce needs the skills to navigate the world of AI & Machine Learning. Campers will use Python 3 to take a deep dive into these groundbreaking technologies that surround our day-to-day lives and also learn how assistants like Siri, Alexa, and Cortana are built. With an understanding of how AI and Machine Learning work, campers will be better equipped to navigate the upward trajectory of computer intelligence.

This course introduces campers to the Unity gaming engine. From installing and configuring unity to building their first game. Campers will learn how to publish their creation to IOS, Xbox, Android, PC, MacOS and Linux! They will also get hands on with Oculus Quest 2, learning its interface and capabilities.

Campers go behind the sounds of our favorite tunes to see how science, technology, mathematics, and engineering are utilized to create music today. Using theory and programming tools like Sonic Pi, campers can express themselves like never before
iCode of Wellesley: YouTube: Producers
The YouTube Producers camp is the stepping stone for future content creators, to come and learn the skills that will challenge and push their video editing skills to produce content that draws maximum viewership and pushes the content to the top of rankings. During the course campers will also get a working knowledge of digital cameras, editing audio, video, and producing content that is not just unique but desirable to a large or specialized audience.
All campers will also get an introductory tutorial on what to be cautious about before posting their videos to YouTube and how to retain privacy and be safe while still being a superstar.
