General Program Info
From October 2024 to April 2025, we are offering the Peer Tutor Program at the Needham Free Public Library at two designated after school times:
Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30pm
Thursdays from 6:00-7:00pm
Tutor and tutee pairs will meet during one of the designated time slots for the duration of the year.
We are limiting the paired program to 16 tutors and 16 tutees.
Tutors and tutees will be required to commit to the program from October until the end of April.
New Opportunity This Year! (2024-2025)
We are opening only a handful of spots at Eliot Elementary School's Extended Day Program (NEDP) for high school tutors to support elementary kids during designated homework time (roughly 3:30-4:30pm). High school tutors would choose ONE day during the week to attend NEDP. This would be great for returning peer tutors who feel comfortable and confident with the program. The option to register specifically for NEDP tutoring is listed below.
General Tutor Information (Grades 10-12)
There will be 16 spots open for tutors in grades 10-12.
Once you have registered your name, program leaders will reach out through email with next steps for the application and interview process. All tutors must complete an application and interview process to be considered for the program.
Program coordinators will notify participants if they have been accepted.
*Please note - tutors that have participated in the past must complete the application and interview process again. Spots are not reserved for past participants!
Tutors will receive 30 hours of community service for participation upon completion of the program.
General Tutee Information (Grades 3-8)
There will be 16 spots open for tutees in grades 3-8.
There is a $55 fee for tutees to register.
Tutees will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.
