Peer Tutor Program 2026-2027

Tutee 2026
Youth & Family Services' Peer Tutor Program matches high school students in grades 3-8 to provide after school academic support through the school year. Tutor and tutee pairs meet once a week at the Needham Free Public Library during a mutually agreed upon time to work on homework, help with projects, organize academic materials, and provide a supportive and friendly environment for young students.

High school tutors are eligible to receive up to 30 hours of community service for their participation depending on their attendance! Tutors and tutees are required to commit to the program from October until mid-May. Tutors must be in Grades 9-12.

The number of participants in the program is limited, but please join the waitlist if the program fills.

Tutors - Once registered, all tutors must complete an application before they are accepted to participate. Tutors who have participated to the past must complete the application again. Spots are not automatically reserved for past participants. There will also be a short training to complete before the program starts.

Tutees - Parents will complete an information form. There is a one-time $55 for tutees to participate for the year. Program leaders will reach out with next steps once registration is full.

Please ensure Tutor's contact information is listed in your MyRec account.

Program leaders are Hannah Stein, LICSW (hstein@needhamma.gov) and Grace Burnham (gburnham@needhamma.gov)
