Kindergarten Here We Come! - Kindergarten Here We Come! Join Youth & Family Services for a free, 3-part summer workshop to help parents prepare their children for Kindergarten and help with the child's big transition! Whether this is a completely new experience for you and your family or you're looking for extra support this time around, this is a space to discuss helpful strategies and approaches to helping our kids through the journey of starting school. Parents will chat with staff from Youth & Family Services about routines, peer interactions, emotional regulation strategies, and normalizing healthy emotional development in young children. Children will talk about school, discuss their feelings, and make a craft together.Parents and their children will attend the program at the same time but engage in their respective workshops separately, joining back together at the end. Parents who wish to attend by themselves are invited to do so.Two sessions of the workshop will occur over the summer and the final workshop will occur just after school begins. Please register each individual who will attend, adults and children.Who: Rising Kindergartners and their parents/caregiversMeets Once Monthly On:July 9th, 10am-10:45amAugust 20th, 10am-10:45amSeptember 17th, 1pm-1:45pmWhere: Needham Youth & Family Services1471 Highland Ave, NeedhamLower Level - Great Plain and Highland RoomsPlease contact Kristina Kozak, MSW, BCBA with questions at kkozak@needhamma.gov or 781-467-6415.
